I had a liking for doodling since my kindergarten days in Aleppo, Syria. For me, writing was drawing alphabets on paper. My mother used to show me alphabets on signages and other media. Whatever I saw got stored in my mind. And that is how I had learnt the English alphabet. 

Strange and unbelievable, right?

After returning to India, I got my first teacher at the age of six years. I had been under the tutelage of four eminent teachers – Late Ms Maitreyi Mukherjee, Mr Manotosh Mallick, National Award recipients - Ms Jayasri Burman and Mr Partha Bhattacharjee.

I believe in therapy through any form of Art. ‘Esoterica’ (or Spirituality) takes various forms in my paintings through the ‘Stream of Consciousness’ concept. It enables me to explore and render shapes to the flow of thoughts in my conscious mind. My paintings are primarily based on the various slices of life, which at some point transcends the drudgery of the daily routine. 

When it comes to human characters portrayal in the paintings, the preference is for a feminine form over that of a masculine. In the case of mediumistic paintings, the subject chooses my canvas. 

Both my vibrant and subtle colour palettes bring out the warm hues and dark undertones that are concealed in the depth of the human psyche. The Sacred Geometry and esoteric symbols add to the symbolism in all my compositions.
